All bands, MUST be unsigned (those bands signed with an indie label will have to be evaluated for participation) and consist of three or more members. No individuals. Contestants will be judged on vocal and instrumental performance, stage presence, originality and fan reaction. We have created a new ethical standard for this type of competition and showcase! It's all about the artist and assisting to elevate their career's to the next level. 

1st place will receive:  a 24 month Recording and Pre-Marketing Management Contract and an Artist Development and eCommerce, Promotion, Booking and Marketing/Distribution Package and Music Video creation Produced and Directed by: Mr. Abdul Malik Abbott, with professional Collaboration assistance by Mr. Don Wolf. And the Myxer organization will be adding a special media package as well. **Myxer is the largest and fastest growing site for mobile entertainment - with over 18 million users and a catalogue of over 1.7 million ringtones, wallpapers, videos and games from over 100,000 artists. (Myxer will provide the winner of the Indie Music Series, with a Myxer Homepage Takeover providing exposure to over 200,000 people in a 24 hour period of which around 10,000 will leave with your ringtone on their phone! Myxer also offers up a four week feature/exposure campaign that utilizes many of Myxer’s pages, newsletters, and blogs. $10,000.00 Value)    - $80,000.00+.

Open to all 50 USA state residents and Canada.  (Void where prohibited)  Those younger than 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, 21 or older. Material will be accepted in the genres of: Pop/Rock Soft Rock, Ska, Heavy Metal, Punk, Indie Rock, Alternative and all other sub rock sounds.   

• Application Entry Package, Band Waiver Package, non-refundable Entry Fee and a Standard Press Kit consisting of: either a CD or DVD or Video, a Bio and Photo of your band, must be received no later than: April 15, 2009 to be eligible.  You will be contacted regardless of our decision. **It is the sole responsibility of all bands, to provide their own transportation to and from the competition**

• The Top 10 bands will be notified no later than April 23, 2009. Black Mountain will notify you as soon as possible, so that you can make your travel arrangements. The complete schedule will be posted on our website once all artists have been confirmed. These Top 10 bands, will also be paid for their performance in the competition. A group of select celebrity and/or music industry judges, will then select the winners out of the Top 10 at: A venue to be announced shortly. This competition is also a showcase and there will be music industry professionals in the audience, to review your performance and possibly offer additional career opportunities. ***Any submissions received postmarked, later than April 15th, will be returned unopened** 
  

• Each band that enters the "Indie Music Fest" competition, will receive 5 months worth of event coverage (based upon the actual time of band entry) through major internet viral marketing and press releases, as well as additional promotions on various web sites and partnerships.
