A storm is brewing around Hurricane Cletis, in the Saskatchewan music scene. After a year of writing and searching for band mates, brothers: Greg, Darren and Rob Dyck, joined forces with JK and Chris Smith. They knew they had the right lineup, when only months after forming, they went to compete against over 50 bands in the 2006 Rock 102 and the Roxy on Broadway's "Ultimate Band Warz." Judged by industry moguls: Ralph James (The Agency Group) and Steve Blair (Head of A&R Warner Music Canada) Hurricane Cletis was chosen as the winner!
In January 2007, Cletis member: Greg Dyck, was chosen as the regional winner of the Canadian Radio Star Songwriting Competition for the song: "Stained." Among hundreds of entries, Hurricane Cletis rose to the top and earned a trip to Toronto for Nationals and an opportunity to showcase the song during Canadian Music Week. Combining sounds of their influences from yesterday and today (Motley Crue, Godsmack, Nickleback) the band has created a punchy, driving collection of songs.
Their self titled debut was produced by Ryan Anderson, who has worked on projects such as: Nickelback's "The Long Road" and "All The Right Reasons." Anderson's other credits include working with the bands: Thornley, ACDC, Hinder, Mudvayne, Default, Bryan Adams and Theory Of A Deadman. Hurricane Cletis boasts hard rockin' songs like: "Disgusted" and "Break You," while tracks like "Stained" and "Little While" show a more vulnerable side. Hurricane Cletis is a must see live show that screams out their "get off your butt and party" attitude!

Meet The Band
Darren Dyck - Vocals
Darren Dyck - Vocals A natural born performer! From the earliest age Darren (D.D.) has always commanded attention with his ability to entertain and captivate an audience. Whether it was mimicking his favorite comedians or just clowning around, D.D. always caught people’s attention. It wasn't until a few years later that he would find his natural vocal ability, and thus, his way to the stage. After brothers Greg and Rob had been playing together for a while in their parents basement they decided it was time for a singer and convinced Darren to give it a shot. They liked what they heard and have been performing together since. With his seemingly unlimited energy and commanding stage presence, D.D. truly brings a rock show to life.
Rob Dyck - Percussion
Rob Dyck - Percussion From the time he can remember Rob wanted to play the drums. After countless years of staring at pictures in catalogues he decided to join his school band. Although the instructor thought he would be a natural on the tuba, Rob would not have any part of that. He knew where he belonged and where he was meant to be. Rob realized he wanted to be in a rock band after his first taste of Motley Crue and the drumming of Tommy Lee. Rob plays with passion, energy and presence, always striving to give the audience a true taste of rock 'n' roll.
Greg Dyck - Guitar
Greg Dyck - Guitar
Growing up in small town Saskatchewan has proven to be an integral part of Greg Dyck’s evolution as a songwriter and guitar player.Being forced to entertain his creative mind, Greg turned to music at an early age. It wasn’t long before he realized that his passion lied in both writing and playing guitar. Just like any other musician starting out, Greg spent countless hours playing and writing music in his basement alongside his brothers, Rob and Darren. With numerous years of experience, Greg’s contributions as a creative and innovative songwriter have played a role in much of Hurricane Cletis’ success. Greg writes music from personal experiences that sometimes evolve into fictional stories, while combining his musical influences from yesterday and today. Greg’s creative ability as a songwriter have been a key factor in producing a driving, punchy, collection of original material that is performed by Hurricane Cletis.
JK Brackish - Bass
JK Brackish - Bass JK (Jonathan Klein) has always expressed a passion and love for music from an early age. When the question of "what do you want to be when you grow up?" was asked in his first year od school, JK's reply was clear - a rock star. After choosing the Bass as his instrument of choice at the age of thirteen, he quickly started to expand his musical influences and tastes. After being in a band with high school friends, JK joined up with fellow musicians from his hometown to become a member of Hurricane Cletis.
"Hurricane Cletis is a band that you just fall in love when you hear their rich alternative rock sound. Serious Alice N' Chain like riffs make the HC one of the most kick ass bands to enter the Upstream. Who knew Saskatoon, Canada could rock this effing much?"
